Mr.P.C.Hota Committee Report

Hota Committee has recommended that the minimum and maximum age at recruitment shall be 21 and 24 years for general candidates (what it was from 1948 to 1971), in place of the present 21 and 30 years.within that age span, a candidate could appear for the examination only three times.

Dr.Y.K.ALAGH committee Report highlights

The UPSC had appointed a committee, headed by Professor Yoginder K. Alagh, to review the selection procedure and suggest improvements. While the report was submitted to the UPSC in 2001-02 Alagh Committee has made a strong recommendation for sweeping changes in the selection process and the structure of the civil services.

Committee was critical about both ongoing selection process & training at LBSNAA. and suggested measures to make the bureaucracy more efficient and result-oriented
